KDG Electric Setups

We all play differently

Styles, attack, etc so your guitar should be setup to your own personal tastes not mine,
I'm constantly hearing about clients whose previous experiences have been dictated by other repairers. Could you imagine a hair salon running a business like that?
It's all about getting it right for you.

Factory spec actions: By popular brands

String action is generally measured in 64ths of an inch, from the top of the 12th fret.

This is due to the big brands being American therefore using the imperial system.

Normally you have action even across and sometimes a little more height on the bass side.

Shredder (3-3)

Fender Strat (4-4)

Gibson Les Paul (5-3)

Taylor acoustic guitars (6-5)

Martin acoustic guitars (7-5)

KDG - EQUAL STRING SPACING NUTS

Replace Nut - From $120. Includes materials

KDG Bone nuts are all made by hand for the perfect fit.

The nuts start as a large slab bone blank.

They are then sanded close to shape on the 12" Disc sander,

constantly going back and forth, checking the fit and removing little by little.

The neck is then measured 1/8th from each side of the fingerboard for the correct nut spacing. Spacing is laid out and scribed, then filed with the correct string gauge file.

KDG nut files are tapered, so changing string gauge doesn't require modifying the nut slot unless you are moving to a much larger string gauge.

The final nut is sanded and buffed to seal the pores of the bone.

Then installed and buffed on the neck… For that seamless transition so your'd never know it wasn't always there.

KDG Bone nut feature equal string placing

**Equal string spacing allows even spacing between all strings. Standard string spacing places the wound E and A strings closer together and the plain E and B strings further apart.**

NO KDG JOB: Is clocked for time…. It takes as long as it takes.

When I'm happy with it… it's ready.
