Fretwork

It's all about the small detail

Heat Removal
To remove your old worn frets and to minimalise chipping

Correcting the Board
(Resurfacing the board and removing years of wear)
And if anything has moved over the years, now  is the time to get it straight. The straighter the neck the better the end result,

Fine Tune Radius
(So the fret-wire seats correctly)
Sanding through the grits 80,120, Re Cut the fret slots, continue sanding 240,400,600 (800,1200 for Ebony and to remove any sanding scratches from the inlays)

Frets pressed
(Puts less strain on the board then hammer fretting)

Why press frets? Faster and more consistent than hammering (and a lot quieter!), arbor-press fretting is preferred by many of the worlds finest guitarmakers. Pressed-in frets have fewer loose ends and more uniform heights, because there's none of the recoil produced by hammer blows.

New Maple fingerboard finish ing option

KDG Maple Fingerboards are sealed with layers of danish oil.

A cut and polish paste wax is applied and french polished by hand.

It is then machine buffed, for the final brilliant dry shine rather than that wet looking shine that many finishes get.It enhances the finish and removes or at least blends in slight surface imperfections.

The Result is an environmentally friendly finish that is hard wearing

and not sticky like lacquer,

In my opinion it feels much better.

Come and see for yourself
